Hey guys, I finally did it and got myself a GS. After years of wanting a GS (8 years) I went into 5 dealers in NJ and couldn't find a black on black GS with Navi. The one dealer told me that they would have one off a ship and docking in Newark, NJ on April 4th. I got the call yesterday that it is at the dealer early and I am picking it up tomorrow. I really wanted this car since the GS400 was out in 98 and I was 15. Now i finally got the job I was looking for and was fortunate enought to pull the trigger. I am really excited and will probably not sleep much tonight. I almost settle for Black with tan interior, but didn't want to just give up. At last I found my 08 GS350 AWD w/ Navi. I am having it tinted on Friday (5% all the way around) and next step is rim shopping.

 

Good for you!! And you'll never be sorry you waited and got exactly what you wanted. If i were buying today, that's the color scheme I'd go for too. good taste.

Congratulations! I had to wait about 6 weeks to get the color combo + ML/Nav that I wanted, but it was well worth the wait. (btw - you sure about 5% tint? I read somewhere in this forum that at least one person said it was too dark at night,...haven't had it myself so I personally don't know - I'm sure it will look good though!)

 

You'll love the black on black, great choice -- very elegant looking. Black also makes your car look larger and more intimidating. Glad you got what you wanted. You'll also love the ML and nav.

thanks guys, I will definitely take pics the first sunny day outside. I had 5% tint on my Pontiac so I am used to the night. I must say though, it is really dark at night when you are parking and looking for the curb.

Congratulations! It sounds like we were in similar situations. I have waited for years for a new Lexus and finally was financially able to acquire one after landing a dream job. I just picked up my 08 GS350 AWD yesterday afternoon and it is an absolute dream. It still feels surreal that I finally have it! It drives extraordinarily well and the technology is world class. I am impressed beyond my wildest expectations. You will LOVE your new GS! You may also spend an inordinate amount of time searching for spacious and safe parking spots wherever you go. :-)
