DVD player in infinite loop!
I've got some DVD-audio discs that I've been listening to recently. (I can't really tell much difference from a CD, but I've already said that in another post.)
The problem I have with DVD-audios (regular DVDs might have the same problem but I don't know) is that once playing they go into infinite loops for me.
I do mainly short trips (library, store, etc.) around town. Everytime I get back in the car, the DVD goes back to the beginning of the current track. Since I listen only to classical music, which has long (up to 30 min.) movements, it means that I can never finish a movement unless I manually fast forward the disc.
CDs do not have this problem. They work the way you'd expect them to.

Check the setting on your audio playback, there is an option for 'replay' both for single track or entire disc.
Also check the disc itself, if you have some greasy/oily fingerprints on it, it will adversly affect playback (if you have young kids, you'll know what I'm talking about).

I bet all 3GSs with ML do the same thing to ALL DVD-audio discs.

Is it A or B?
A) return to where you were in the song?
OR
B) start at the beginning of the song?
Try it and let me know the answer.

^ Ok, just for you - I'll try it on my way home tonight.
FYI - I NEVER do this, I always skip back or forward to the next break before I turn the engine off, in fact I usually switch from DVD to FM then turn the engine off (OCD habit I have from cassette days). . .

since I like ML a lot, guess I will just live with it.

Whats to complain about? Look at it as another bonus from the Lexus audio and ML engineers, that a DVD will continue to play after restarting the vehicle. If your audio tracks are too long, find other DVD classical sources with shorter tracks.
DVD's contain much more bit data than standard CD's but they do permit the restart from the same chapter. Do you like Jazz? Try the 'Masters of Jazz' with Ramsey Lewis DVD-Video in 5.1 Dolby Digital surround.
