Default Levinson Audio Question

A Question for those of you with Levinson Audio...

I noticed that it has full DVD compatibility. Does this mean that I can rip a DVD full of MP3s, or can I only play MP3s burned on to CDs.... or neither???

Thanks,
mcukier

Good question on MP3 DVDs. You can play MP3 CDs and organize them into folders.

Does this mean, "no, you can't do DVDs"?

Or you're not sure....

I have never tried to burn MP3s onto a DVD to create an "MP3 DVD". I have played DVD-Audio discs and regular DVDs as well as regular CD's with MP3s on them (an "MP3 CD").

I burned hundreds of mp3's on a Sony DVD+R disc and it worked for me on my 07 GS 350 w/ M.L.

Well, it seems like Rey Rey had success with a specific format... Sony +R...

might be worth a shot to give it a go. I'd find it tough to believe that they changed the formats that are readable between '07 and '08....

TOUGH to believe but not impossible.... :-)

Keep in mind that DVD technology was designed to provide a format optimized for higher bandwith surround sound movie and audio modes. DVD discs can be made to play mp3's (with a lot of computer work and formatting) but other than the greater number of titles you could cram onto a single disc, you would still be getting only cd quality or worse. An iPod hook-up offers a better solution. I have never tried creating a 5.1 audio mix from my Macs but I think it can be done from PC's or Macs.
