Cool navigation override -- full version working!!!

it's been almost 6 months since the first thread, but i think this one warrants a new one

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...light=override

ever since its release i haven't been happy about the limitation of the override kit from PS on the GS, that it only has 30-40 seconds override instead of 5 mins, and also the silly audio cut off during override.

finally after a lot of study and understanding, i figured out the secret to get the unit to work on our cars the full version! i finished testing it on my 08 gs this past weekend, and i have proven my fix on this car basically now with the override kit

1) still fully plug and play, no cutting, no splicing
2) full 5 mins of override after pressing the button. full access to nav, bluetooth, and audio tracks
3) no more audio cut off while override is being engaged

of course it was done with a lot of effort and help from PS, so everything is their property. i was told that PS is working on contacting all 3gs owners who have the override regarding the fix props to them

or if you want to get more information, you can email chung@prestigioussociety.com

i am a happy man!

Hey Henry,

Thanks for the info. Will this work if I upgrade my nav disc to 7.1?

Thanks again.

That's great....I don't think there was ever a definitive answer to this -- does it work on an '07 GS 350 w/o ML?

as usual, i can't say 100%, but personally i am pretty darn confident that nav override will work no problem. it works on IS and LS no problem

like i said you can get more info from chung@prestigioussociety.com

Romini - I click on the link up there and I see the instructions are for 07 GS. Do you know if they work on the 06 GS Navi with ML?

Thanks for your help

no problem ryan, any time, i am sure you are half dead now with toyotafest

SiccMonkey, unfortunately i won't be able to disclose anything, as a i explained it's PS property and i am just an end-user.

i never said much before, but this is the reason why i got things from PS. they provide the right warranty and stand behind their products. at the same time, they provide the customer services to assist customers.

back when this kit came out, several was sold and then the time issue discovered. it took PS no time to issue recall and refund to all clients if they choose to. and in this case, months after some kits are sold, PS are willing to continue assist me to getting the solution, and are willing to help customers.

that's what i call service. not to mention they are a paid vendor here on CL, they are supporting the operation of this forum.
