It's not on your list but I'd consider a GS450h before any of those b/c I think it's a good compromise between performance and gas. ...unless gas isn't an issue for you. if that's the case, CPO CLS55!

If price were not an issue, the CLS 550 AMG is a gorgeous car with great horsepower and features. My best friend has owned this car for the last year and it's amazingly fast. However, like with most German cars there are so many add-ons that make the car extremely expensive.

ok guys, no such thing as the CLS550 AMG...

only AMG for CLS is the CLS63

My choice would be the CLS550 too, just something about that car that's sexy.

*only because you already have a GS or had, no point to get another one.

He probably meant CLS 550 + AMG wheels/bodykit or something?

If you get the MB make sure you ask them what kind of loaner cars they will be giving you. Chances are that you'll be driving that more than your CLS

Lease = BMW

Buy = Lexus

Hmm, I haven't had any issues with my E63. And my wife's '06 E350 had zero issue during the 2.5 years we had it.

Out of the three choices, I'd get the CLS550. Love the styling and the V8 makes plenty of power. There are pretty attractive incentives on the CLS right now d/t the upcoming '09 refresh.

As for the OP's question, are you planning on leasing or buying? If buying, I'd also consider a low mileage used CLS55 or CLS63. AMGs tend to depreciate quickly and you can find some great deals on used cars...especially in this weak economy.

i would go with cls550 too, especially when price isn't an issue and you don't care that much about rear space, the cls is a slick car

and yes, there is no such thing a amg cls550. putting amg batch at the back (a lot of dealerships do that) doesn't make it amg at all
