Do you want to race or do stunts like "donuts"? If so, then you want to turn off traction control. Essentially, when the tires breaks loose the traction control system drops the timing and closes the throttle. When traction returns, then it slowly returns the timing and throttle back up. You don't want this "automatic" behaviour when you are racing.

Some say you may also want to turn traction control off if the road is completely covered in glare ice as this would permit the tires to spin and melt the ice to give you more traction.

i have tried to turn mine off several times and it appears as though it comes back on automatically. could this be? the orange light comes on when i turn the system off via the switch in the center area and then the light goes back out after a short while. hmmm...not sure. but to answer your question...i usually just leave it alone and drive with the TRAC on. i don't understand it enough i guess...

If you really want to turn off the traction control all together just hold down the trac button for a few seconds till the 2 lights come on. I think its trac and vsc. it doesnt turn back on till you hit the switch.

Did a few U turns while burning out at the same time. :P

Make sure your careful when doing it, dont eat a curb or spin out because you cant handle it. lol, i left off because i am a wuss, otherwise i could have done a donut and did a 360 and then go straight again. I'm not ready to bend expensive wheels.

Lexus traction control system sucks. I turn mine off all of the time when I remember. It ruins the cars performance ability. WAY TO INVASIVE

The Lexus Traction control system is perfect, to be honest at the track it makes you into a better driver I rarely have the trac icon light up on me now, even in daily driving conditions.

I love to do a u-turn 180 sometimes when there is no traffic and at willow springs I did 3 powerslides but be careful, the GS is well balanced but if your in the wrong place things can go wrong!!!!

I drive with it on all the time, I have no complaints. If you really want to have fun, get an IS-F with the 3 stage VDIM mode (Normal, Sport, Full Off).

A true drivers car allows adjustments, not just on or off. I am already saving for my GTR. my sister in law works for Nissan corporate. I can get one at full price in 24 months or get one in 12 months at a mark up. I am waiting to save and I am waiting for the spec v model to be released in the next 2 production years. Lighter, more power, and reworked tarnsmission. I CANT FREAKN WAIT

How can traction be turned off on an 08....seems a bit of a nanny... if the switch is off...it still comes on after a little "spirited" drivin, making u-turns etc...
