they are pretty conservative setup, will fit fine. for the rear personally i would use 275 on 10

are you saying you will put bbk in the rear? if so then you need to do a lot more homework. sometimes you don't need high disk in the rear to clear bbk in the back, since the rear rotor hats are pretty high already

I would like to upgrade the front brakes to BBK in the future for sure.
And wouldnt it look more complete if I upgrade the rears as well?

do most people do fronts and rears? or fronts only?

ROMINL: when you say pretty conservative, do u mean my wheels wont be any where near flush? im sure that it wont be super flush, but close enough?

a lot of times people upgrade front to bbk only, and rears just replace rotors and pads. in recent years there are more and more options on rear bbk upgrades as well. that's up to you, of course means more money too

about clearance, like i said, for rear it's like an art...

what do you mean flush though, with or without fender mods? without fender mods you will never be "flush". with mods, it's about how much are you willing to do and/or sacrifice

with your setup, i think without fender mods it's cool

Anything wrong with having the same Tire Aspect Ratio?
like this setup:

30 series all the way around on a staggered setup.

FRONT 245/30/20
REAR 275/30/20

also this is for a RWD

a member here has this setup, but i was told that the CEL light might come on, or the rolling diameters are way out of spec, or something like that.

Do you think i would have any issues running these sizes?

thanks guys.

i don't think you will have any problem

i have 235/30 and 265/30 and i never have any issues. i don't see why the cel will come on. rolling diameters out of spec won't cause that, otherwise a lot of people with 20s would be crying already

but i think question you should ask yourself is when you want to do your setup. 245/30 and 275/30, that means the front profile is pretty much 1/2" less than the rear. your car will have a rake look.

i do my setup due to fitment, lowering, and stretching, but in your case i am not sure why

The reason for me wanting to go with the 30 series in the front is so that i could eliminate rubbing in the front.
Does your car have the "rake" look since you are 30 series all the way around?
woudnt it be better to have the rear tires to have a little larger look then the front, rather than having the fronts thicker than the rear?

will my speedo be off by alot with this setup?
ROMINL: can you please post a pic of your cars stance. I would like to see how 30 series all the way around looks like.

Thanks for your help!

In terms of stayin closest to the stock rolling diamenters, which would be the better setup:
Option A: 245/35/20F & 275/30/20 or
Optioon B: 245/30/20F & 275/30/20

what are the pros and cons of option A vs. option B?

Thanks for all the input.

your setup is not stretched, if i were you and put 30 in the front to eliminate rubbing, i would do 25 in the rear to match it. i don't know what you mean by "better to have rear tires to have little larger look", if this is nsx or corvette maybe, but i'd rather have same look front and rear.

and just in case you are confused, aspect ratio is a ratio, it's not absolute value. 245/35 and 275/30 pretty much have the SAME sidewall height. if you get 245/30 and 275/30, the front has much less sidewall (245 x 0.35 vs 245 x 0.30)

my car has very little rake look coz' of how i size the tires against my wheels. i have 9 and 10, 235/30 doesn't stretch as much as 255/30 on the 10, so although rear profile is higher, but more stretching helps even things out

funny you ask, i have never taken any pic of my car after it's lowered and wheels on. still think it looks like crap now

245/30/20 and 275/25/20 (or 285) is spec diameter as stock. anything off from there you can do the match. speedo will be off by couple %, but seriously i never care for that. not like it will blow up

i know a lot of you are going to give me crap for getting the size tires and wheels ive purchased but i ordered my wheels today and under the assumption that im going to run an 8.5 in the front and a 9.5 in the rear. cause of the tire stretching issue, sidewall of the tire and such, with those wheel diameters i think im gonna run:

245/35/20 Front &
275/30/20 Rear

I cannot stand how a set of wheels look when the tire is stretched and the rim bead actually sticks out beyond the wheel.

Hi Guys..

My setup:
20" MRR HR2
8.5' Front 225/35/20
9.5' Rear 275/30/20
Kumho Escata

There are rubbing issues both front and rear.
-Front is minimal, only when turning steering wheel all the way.
-Rear is prominent. Every bump cause rubbing with fender protective plastics.

Please consider mounting ted bit smaller setup to avoid rubbing issues. (Current front setup is bearable)

This is an old thread, but I wanted to get feedback, on the idea of running 235/35 in the front vs. 245/30. I would prefer a thicker tire in the front but dont want to run into major problems with a 235/35. Any ideas??
