A Lexus sales person told me that the car had direct injection. Apparently, he was incorrect. There's no reason to get rude. I was misinformed. I'm not comparing my car to the GS. It's obviously a very different car. The point I was making is that there is a ticking/diesel sound that is prominent from the ES350 as well. It seems that the GS owners have learned to get along with it and the ES350 owners are having a more difficult time. Have a nice day.

If the noise is really that loud, why would anyone buy it, the fact is, its not as loud as people make it out to be.

i've been on every single model 3GS, honestly, I don't hear anything, I actually wish the engine is a bit louder.

My GS sounds like an electric car for crying out loud

whenit runs it sounds like an electric car(especially for people with previously tuned cars), but at idle it sounds like ****t(especially in drive thru's). I want to put an intake on the car but I am hearing it may trigger VSC lights.

I first noticed it at a drive-thru and thought something was wrong. It's noticeably louder than the 2GS. I even made the Lexus dealer check it at the 1000 mile checkup. They probably thought I was crazy,...

I go thru a drive thru every morning to get coffee, I dont hear a freaken thing

My car is loud at idle. I tease that it's my diesel truck.
