I've never seen one in new car inventory. I assume it is special order for the
GS450h only. It does look great on the LS600hL because it is very dark.

The brochure list it for the 450h only.

I'm looking for proof of the existence of this color on the GS450h. Anyone ever seen one? Photos would be outstanding!

is this a purplish color? looks black on Lexus's website. my mother-in-law has a 2003 ES and it's "black garnet" or something like that..it's an awesome color. my GS is the black sapphire and I really love this color.

Here is the color on an LS. I am still looking for a photo of a GS in Black Opal Mica.

under normal light it's very dark, almost like black. but if under direct sunlight or from an angle reflection, it carries a bit of purple flake, just like how the picture illustrates above

One of the SICKEST colors Lexus makes. Would be nice to see this on a GS.

Along with Glacier Frost, Matador Mica, and Ultrasonic Blue.

Too bad I don't want a LS600hL (nor a GS450h), otherwise, the Black Opal would definitely be my choice.

You have to look at specifically the GS450h hybrid.

It's been made available for the GS450h just starting with the 2009 model right ?
It's a rare color even for the LS600hL, I think we only have one confirmed member here who has a Black Opal 600hL so far, & the 600hL has been out for a year and a half now.

Nope, it started on the 2008. There have to be some out there, but I bet it is as rare as the 600hL in that color. Sooner or later one will turn up.

OK, maybe for the U.S., but Black Opal has never been made available for the GS450h yet in Canada, not even for 2009, it's still exclusive for the LS600hL here.
