Does anyone know what the strategy (or really lack of strategy) lexus has for selling GS's. They sell very few, never advertise in our paper (although they are constantly talking about the LS, RX, ES and IS), and have no commercials with the GS. I like having a rare care, but it seems weird to me that they don't even try. Does anyone have any insight?

who knows....
they tried to advertise it before, and recently had some kickass commercials.
but if a car continues to sell poorly, are you gonna dump anymore cash to advertise??
it looks like lexus is keeping to the consumer magazines for comparison/advertisement.

Why waist money to advertise 1 model to suit the needs of 1 type of consumer when you can market the make and target a wider range of consumers? Here in Miami I see tons of advertising for Lexus on all type of networks, magazines, radio, etc. Not trying to sound bias but they actually outdo everyone if you ask me. They are currently sponsoring Alicia Key's tour who which is touring all over the world with NeYo and Jordan Sparks. Their current commercials have been showcasing their wide variety of hybrids which is actually smart being that gas prices are so high.

They do sponsor tennis and golf tournaments. That is good enough advertising for me. Unless there's a brand new model out, the major competitors don't really have advertising either. i.e. when's the last time you saw an Infiniti M commercial? or 5 series? or E class? how about the new Jag??? When the Cayenne GTS came out, there's a commercial specific for that, and also the new AMG C-class. But other than that, not really.
Also, when you get to these more high-end cars, you don't really need commercials... It's not like a Hyundai trying to compare themselves to BMW 7 or Lexus...

you can't compare lexus and bmw's retail price because if lexus were the same price as bmw, who the heck will buy lexus.
they priced it lower for a reason, look at mercedes, retail is always higher than BMW and offer no such service.
