Just decided to try Verizon's Navigator with Live Traffic on my cell phone. Works great when I'm outside of the car where I can hear all the turn-by-turn and traffic instructions through cell phone speakers. But when I'm in the car and have it linked with Bluetooth, I can't hear anything. Cell phone only works when I'm making a call, but I can't hear any NAV/Traffic vocal instructions. Of course, the obvious solution is not to have it linked to hands free. But is there any other way to get it to work? I remember a few people mentioned having iPhone with live traffic. How do you have it setup to hear vocal instructions?

Find a way to plug in to the AUX jack and play it through the audio system that way.. i-phone doesn't do verbal commands as far as I know (its Google maps). Phone could still be connected to bluetooth for calls...

Your BT in your Lexus only works for phone calls to and from your cell phone only. Unfortunately it cannot be used as external output for your BT enabled peripheral.

Dedicated aftermarket GPS should be louder no? Like a Tomtom, Magellan or Navigon or something. They seem to offer more functionality (like traffic) too. Anyone mount one of these in their 3GS?

Yeah, I figured hands free connection is for phone calls only
AUX connection was added in '08 models, '07 doesn't have it.
Yes, dedicated aftermarket GPS should work as long as its not connected with bluetooth to your main system

You can however use a tape adapter with mini plug and use that to connect to your phone. The only thing is that you cannot listen to the radio while doing this, but you can listen to your phone's mp3 files if you have them saved in there.
