Default gs350 owners.. how are you diggin' the car so far?

how would you rate it from 1 to 10?

likes? dislikes? what would you like lexus to improve?

looking at getting a used one in a year or two (maybe).. just doing some research

some complaints i've heard are rattles from the dashboard.. noisy tires.. and the fact that you can't use the voice activation and nav while driving

Love the car.. 9/10.. Smooth, quiet, quick when needed.. good fuel economy (23 mpg avg mix of cty/hwy), reliable..
Have had problems with DVD player and trunk is small.. And BTW you can use voice activation while driving.. you just cannot watch DVDs, look up POIs (except emergency) or manually input destination info/telephone numbers (several types of overrides can be done to change that) Otherwise, a great car..

i say 8/10 with 10 being the best. overall it's a great car and i think for the price it's pretty good. great improvement over the previous generation in terms of power and handling

plus:
- poweful
- great gas mileage
- very good handling
- much better nav
- dvd playback
- much better (supportive) seats
- good brakes
- nice climate seats

minus:
- expected better ML system
- engine on the loud side
- quality not as good as before
- dash rattle (bad)
- exterior not as sexy as before (very subjective) especially the rear
- without auto trunk
- less cabin space
- trunk got smaller

like ISFT said, voice activation works all the time, but i wouldn't say it's very accurate, at least to me. that's why i have the navigation override, i can access anything in nav when i am driving

voice activation works great for me. The things I'd like improved are the fit of the interior... too many rattles for a lexus.

Also wish you could get the semi aniline leather on the 350.

I'd have to say 9/10.

I have 18k miles on my GS350 since August 2007. There's really not much to dislike about the car. I don't really care for the left drop down panel controls that's for sure. I do wish the trunk was a bit larger than what it is. Other than that, it's been great. I highly recommend it.

I would have to say 9/10
Shortcomings for me....
trunk does not open by itself nor close with a buttom ala Mercedes
Daytime running lights
Size of Trunk opening.... try putting a stroller in...
Direct Injection is a bit loud...not a big deal

I'll go 9 out of 10 also. Smooth quiet ride, just what I was wanting. FOr a stock system I rate the ML audio as pretty good. Actually, really good. Just be sure you aren't compressing the file size on the iPod, you lose too much quality.

I like it a lot... prolly a 10, keep in mind I'm young and single.

Car has great power, smooth, overall makes me feel good while driving. but yeah i hate the drop down box... i simply dont use any of it. after modding the car to watch dvds while moving and full use of the navi system its as good as it gets for me.

I love my GS and I give it a 9.5 out of 10. My only complains are:

-Huge blind spot on driver's side (fixed with a small convex mirror)
-Traction Control/Anti-slip way too intrusive (I just turn it off)
-OEM rubber sucks
-Trunk is a bit small for a car this size

This is my 3rd GS (2001, 2004, 2008) and my favorite so far. When I upgraded from the 01 to the 04 I got nav and ML but not much else. The difference between the first 2 and the 08 is huge though. Yeah, the trunk is smaller and the cabin [I]feels[I] smaller (although the stats don't really show that to be true) but the rest of the package is a huge advancement over the previous version. I'm still in the "honeymoon" period with only 1300 miles but have no issues with the car so far. For those with the ML try some DVD A discs to see what the system is really capable of.

Just the opinion of an old guy, ymmv!

This car is beautiful (06 & 07) and looks the best among all other Lexus. It's fast and has way many features than I really need.

Just a few area to improve:
- better premium audio system sound quality.
- less rattle.
- brighter steering wheel backlit buttons.
- better fuel economy (no way I am averaging a combined 23 mpg considering I don't drive big foot)

I say 9/10 also.

My personal complaints are:
small trunk/opening
inadequate lighting in interior and trunk

Uhhh... that's the beauty of the drop down box. It puts the rarely used controls out of sight!!! WHOOSH! (that was the sound of the drop down box concept flying over your head)

I'm also still in the honeymoon period with my GS350.... a whopping 451 miles on it. I absolute love it.... 9.5 out of 10.

I'm also young/single... so the small trunk doesn't bother me. It can fit three golf bags in it with room to spare, which is plenty enough for me. I think it drives gorgeously, has a luxurious fit/finish.... perfect.

It's not a "driver's car" like the 540 or 335.... but it's definitely THE car for someone who drives a lot. :-) If you get my meaning....
