Default GS and run flats

Hi guys.
I took a new GS out for a test ride and was a bit turned off by the ride quality.I expected more of an ES comfort ride, not ES floating but a lot more comfortable ride than my IS.I'm about to special order a '09 IS 350 but....
Anyone take the run flats off and experienced a much better ride?

regular tires make it a little stiffer than the ES.
but i don't think it's that harsh.

Thanks for the reply,dunnojack.
I imagine the GS would be have a stiffer ride than the ES but I'm wondering how much better the ride would improve with regular tires.
I never drove a car with run flats. The run flats seem to be noisy and bumpier or maybe it's just the GS ride.

It's definitely the run flats... My mom has those run flat tires on an 2008 SC430 and the ride is a little harsh and you feel all the bumps in the road..

Thanks,ReyRey.
I'd probably buy the GS if the ride and noise was significantly better with regular tires.
Anybody do the changeover?

My 07' GS350 used to ride SOOO smooth and quiet, but now after having a little over 18,000 miles my tires are wearing out in the inner part of the tire...When I take the car above 45+ miles I hear this annoying humming noise coming from the tires... I took it to Lexus dealership in Orlando and they told me my tires, (Yokahoma), need to be replaced every 15,000 miles and they are also performance tires... I asked him what tires I should purchase next and he told me to get Michelin tires for smooth and quiet ride... Not sure if this helps you out...

Actually it does..if you don't have run flats.
I'm going to take a trip to my dealer and talk to them about the GS with run flats.I'll see if I can test drive a GS without run flats. That may be tough though because in my area GS's seem to all be AWD.I believe run flats are standard on AWDs.
I was ready to buy a GS but the ride quality and noise was a turn off.

run flats have nothing to do with model (350/460), but with options

my 460 comes with runflats...

I drove 6 years with my old car slammed on coilovers, the GS is far from harsh...

Well,I just called my dealer and was told they don't have any GS model without run flats to test ride.
I was also told the difference in ride isn't that much.Tire Rack and some people say it would make a significant difference.Yet the dealer says no.There's no way for me to test the difference.
The car's ride is closer to the IS then the ES I was hoping it would be.
Oh well, back to my '09 IS 350 special order.
Thanks to all who replied.

The GS is suppose to be a sport sedan, of course the ride is closer to the IS then the ES.

You're right.
The test ride proved that.
I was hoping it would go the other way.
I've read the car doesn't really handle that well which didn't bother me.
The same complaint is said about the IS350 but I'll buy it.
