Good luck with your choice...Like others have said, both are nice cars, cant go wrong if youre driving alone and dont need the space for the IS-F but the GS is not a bad choice at all.

Thanks all for your comments.

My first choice was a fully loaded GS350AWD (C$64,500 plus tax less $2000 cash purchase rebate). After driving a loaner IS250AWD last week when the RX was being serviced, I started to think about the IS-F (C$64,400 plus tax plus upgrade package of $4100). Next time I head to the dealer, I'll take the IS-F for a spin to see how much different from the IS250 (besides more HP and torque).

I have tried looking for a used 07/08 GS350AWD in the West Coast USA since January, but haven't found one that I liked yet (black on black). Its only $52,000 US (MSRP) for a brand new fully loaded one in the US, but Canada has import duties of 6.1% to bring across the border and US franchises can't sell new cars to Canadians. Too bad since the dealer mentality in Canada is that MSRP is the firm price whereas in US, usually you start negotiations at invoice. Also US car sales are declining and dealers are hungry! But in Canada, Toyota is reporting record sales volumes. My only hope is that they introduce some more pricing changes this summer, which is when I plan to buy.

PS. Faymester, I am a lurker on the Cdn site as I don't officially have a Lexus yet! My wife owns the RX.

The GS350 is a great car and the IS-f is great has well, If i waited I would have got an IS-f just because it fits me more has a person, I love tracking my car and the IS-f is a perfect car for that but also a GS350 with certain mods is great has well just depends on you!!!!

If you live uphill then get AWD. I do live uphill, so rememebring how I left my car and walked home when it was snowing... Since then AWD is priority #1. If no, well flip the coin To put in perspective it is like comparing BMW530-535 with M3.
