GS460 or gs350 AWD?
Hey hows it going guys i am having trouble deciding on which one to get, i am wondering is there any exterior or significant differences between the 460 and 350 awd. The only thing i don't understand is why the 460 is only a little bit more powerful then a 350 makes no sense at all.

depends on your budget and driving needs, if you need the AWD, no point to get the 460
460 has 65 more lb-ft of tq, that's where the v8 shines anyway
it's not just about the HP, 460 can come equipped with a lot more features than the 350
AWD is .4" higher than the RWD version and the wheel gap is noticeably bigger, only exterior difference would be the rims

Well from what i heard the 460 drives good enough in the rain right? So not sure if i really need awd doesn't snow that much in brooklyn lately. Also as far as my budget goes theres really no limit for the GS. Thanks.

You are a Gaint fan, I probably shouldnt be talking to you The GS460 like any 300+ HP RWD car with summer tires, is pretty bad in the snow, in the rain its ok. The 460 has better standard leather and adjustable suspension. Both great car, hard to choose. I pick the 350 cus I needed AWD.

Thanks guys, the problem i have is my 04 gs300 is just so slow i wanted to get a v8 this time around, but i from what i read the gs460 is not that much more faster then the gs460 but if it has a better suspension leather then might be a good idea to go for it then. Guess i will just test drive both cars and see thanks a lot. Also are there going to be any big changes in the 2009 gs that is worth waiting for, Go giants .

Forget it man, the gaints winning last year was a one time thing, it wont ever happen again. The pats will take back what is rightfuly ours next year
As far as the GS350, my guess is very little change for the 2009, but if you are lucky, maybe Lexus will give the 09 GS460 a few more HP.

Anyway, as was said earlier, the horsepower number and published 0-60 time doesn't completely equate to the subjective experience/feel of the car. Torque has more to do with that. I think that what you'll find when you test drive the cars, the 460 is smoother, quieter, and that it has a "more forceful" delivery of power with less drama. The way the car feels is obviously how you experience its power, not through numbers.
Good luck with it.

I looked at other cars but i just don't think its worth paying 20 more grand for a bmw or benz considering that some of them have a lot of problems. Was actually thinking about getting an m5 but after hearing about problems the SMG and stuff not worth the hassle. I really like the ls460 but it's more for someone older in my opinion even though it's a great car. So not really many choices between the gs and something else for me at least. Thanks.

It comes down to if you want to spend $7K more more torque and a few more goodies than an AWD GS.
For me the GS AWD is enough but the 460 is a real nice car.
I would think it would be more difficult to get a big discount on a 460.I don't think dealers stock too many here in the NE,anyway.

I would go with the LS and im only 22 yrs old. GS is not necessarily for the young crowd either, average owner of the GS is 50+.
+1 on the BMW and Merc comment. Those cars are not meant to be owned, only leased. BMW although its nice, wayy too unreliable, they dont even test their cars before putting them on the market. What bimmer does is that they rush to put every vehicle they make onto the market then worry about the problems later.
