So today I reset my ECU and when I went to start the car the car it puttered and shut off, I was pretty scared...lol...I tried again started fine.
So why does the car putter when you go to start it after resetting the ecu?
This happened last time I installed the K&N but now it just dupes me has to why its does this.

There's no need to reset the ecu when putting on an intake. The car's ECM automatically learns your driving style and adjusts to any changes as it goes.

And some cars won't even start. Aud/VW models require manuall reinitialization of ECU before you can start the engine. Disconnecting the battery resets ECU to the clean state but on some cars, ECU needs to be reinitiallized at next start up and engune may die while tring to initialize the ECU.
