Default Anybody having problems with K&N drop in Filter?

I have 4k miles on my car and I have absolutely no problem with it. Ive had it on my previous cars and have never had a problem. Is this just me or what?

Some people are having problems with the car not starting or the oil from the filter damaging their MAF?

Link to the people who are having a problem with it.

I have never heard the car not starting with K&N filters, but I have heard many owners who had foul up MAF sensor due to over oiling. When I had k&N on my last car, I dont even re-charge it, I just replace it every 20000 miles or so. You notice any diff. with the K&N in there? Most people dont, especially with a 303 HP car.

Agree with the G Man. I don't even try to re-charge it and risk damaging the MAF with too much oil. I replaced my first one at 25,000 miles and will probably do the same with the current one.

I do like the TRD filter better than the K&N construction wise, anybody know if TRD makes a filter for the GS?

if you clean it right, it will be fine and won't hurt the MAF. but the key is how many people can do it right

and i'd be very skeptical on the hp increase, if any, especially if we talk about noticeable. car will probably sounds a bit louder

Nope, I haven't had any problems... I've been running the K&N filter for about 2,000 + miles and no problems at all... It was already pre-oiled also.. When it's time to clean it, I will just buy a new one and replace it
