Shouldn't need to, I know they didn't on mine. Most of the time when they do tints, there is a seal on the inside of the door, that gets pushed down to make sure the tint goes down further (out of eye view.) When you put the window down and then roll it back up, it goes back to normal.

the lexus windows are biconcave. more so than other cars.
So either they have to shrink it big time, or take the panels off.
but the panel should be easy to remove. The only potential problem is the auto window controls. But quite a few tinters say it's easy to remove.
if you're using regular HP or charcoal tint, they can just heat shrink it.
it sounds like they know what they're doing. it probably makes it easier to tint if they take the panels off, rather than fighting with the tint.

well this guy i talked to is pretty good.. ive known him for a while so i trust him but when he told me this i was like wth so i thought i would ask. since other people have the same exp i guess its ok.. im just worried about the door panels creaking and stuff once u install it again..as for the % i have 15% on the sides and 5% on the rear windsheid on my acura and its dark but u can still see through it a little if its a really sunny day but at night it sux backing up and turning...i think 50% or i guess 25% is good..

door creaks are easy to fix.
it's just one big slab of plastic held by screws.
much simpler compared to dashboard rattles.
just get him to shrink it evenly. it can be done
