What is this GS 300 Worth?
Hey guys im new to the forum and am in the market for a 06 lexus gs 300. After searching for weeks i finally find one local to me that's in the color i want (white) and low miles that i was looking for except it has no navigation. The car has 16,500 miles and is in excellent condition. The asking price is 33,000 is this a fair price? This is a private seller. Any helpful suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance and hope to be contributing to the forum in the future!

Keep looking, that is not a good price....that was a good price 1 year ago when I bought by gs300 used...if you can get that car for 30K do it, if not look around., if he has title at hand, and you pay sales tax in your state he may be able to save you some money that way too...you can probably pick up an 07 for 37 with nav....well worth the difference

Assuming that's AWD, because of the mileage, $33,000 is less than average kbb private sale. In that regard, it's a "fair" price.
OTOH, since the low mileage is just happenstance for you (i.e., I assume 16K is not a mileage requirement for you in a 2006 car), you could consider an offer based on comparable value of more typical mileage/condition, like 36K miles/good condition, which would be about $29,000.
The part that works against you is that he could probably walk in to Carmax and get $29-30,000 - again, because of the mileage and what I presume would be classifiable as "Excellent" condition.

I've been shopping around for a new body style GS as well. That's not a bad price for that mileage.
I decided to take my car (350Z) to CarMax and got a beater to drive for a few months so I can get a GS350 instead. Seems worth it for the extra HP and better radio...

You have a few .02 opinions from people that say $30,000 would be a good deal (for you).
I don't think that's any kind of slap in the face of the seller - He has options; he can take your offer or not. It's a transaction, not a personal matter.
If you do move on, for $30,000, you can certainly find another car with more miles on it...possibly with NAV or some other aspect that works in your favor.
Good luck.
