Are you putting that resistor in series or parallel?

I don't know. It's a rectagular block with wire out of both ends.
My buddy with the IS is doing the install both cars.
I bought a couple of different size ohm 25 watt resistors.A 4.7,5.1,6.8 and 8.2s to try in our cars.At about $1.75 ea,not expensive.

i might have missed something obvious, but how would connecting the resistor in parallel help?

The tech at the electrical part store said you can connect a few in series to raise the ohm level if that's what G Man meant.

yeah, R in series is just like the sum. my point was connecting in parallel to the stock setup shouldn't have any effect?

This electric stuff is way over my head.
The guy that did the install says it works with just a splice in.
I'm going to have it done.

It'll be cool to use that spot for a secondary motorized pop-up screen.

Thats what I thought, connect the resistor in series. Connecting them in parallel would change the impedance matching which will have less of a effect.

The yellow wire WASN'T the center channel wire.
I have to get a wire diagram from somewhere.

adding a DC resistor in series will for sure lower the volume, but it also alters the speaker's frequency response.
think I almost hear ML designers groaning....

I'm just going to leave it the EF alone.

I finally found the sweet spot with the ML sound.
After playing with various settings,I've found the sweet spot with the Treble,Bass,Mid Range and Fader.

I feel better.

So what is your setting? Actually, what settings are everyone using? Right now I didn't change anything on mine (DSP off).
