Hi all,
I just got some new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires which are ultra performance all season tires to replace my grand touring Continental Procontacts that were on my 18 inch optional GS wheels. I notice that I feel the roads more, and given that some of the highways in Michigan and on the eastcoast have subpar finishing surfaces which cause some "road vibes" in the steering wheel and goes away when on a perfectly smooth well made cement road or tar top roads. Its not that bad but I just wonder if any of you with optional 18 GS rims or even optional larger size rims feel the road more but can feel "imperfections and some grooves in the roads, especially at 60-80mph on highways. I know some of the smoothest highways can give a slight vibe in the steering on certain small stretches of the highways. My old Continental touring tires never gave me the "feel" of the road and never had these small feelings from the road. I want to know what I am feeling is perfectly fine. The tires are balance since there is no shimmy or speed related vibration. The Michelins are unidirectionals and I have never had unidirectional tires before.
So, is what I am feeling normal for these kinds if tires and tire size?
Thanks!
