Default stock tint percentage?

Hello All,

As summer begins it is getting unbearable to drive in 100 degree weather. I know the car comes with a light tint. Anyone know what percentage it is? It's too light for my taste and I am about to get my windows tinted in the following weeks. I was thinking 35%? Can anyone recommend a good place or what brand to get? Also, please post up some pics if you have them.

i think it has some UV protection, but i am not sure if it has any tint on it.

if you don't want the heat, get huper optik. you pay more but that's the right way to do things. ceramic tints block out heat, others are for look

i got my huper optik done at song's master in los angeles area

+1 on Huper Optik. Works great in reducing heat in the cabin. Mine was installed by the dealer as part of the purchase agreement.

stocks are not tinted, I think only majority of the SUV comes with privacy glasses for the rear passengers

35% might be too light but that's personal preference, California tint in rosemead is where majority of us get our tints done

can't beat the price

haha uber optik is too rich for my blood, my tint handles 120F heat just fine, but I guess I am used to the hot weather tho

i didn't know about color and heat until i saw the demo. 5% normal tint and heat pretty much just passes through that i couldn't even hold my hand against. 60% huper optik and i didn't feel much heat at all.

i didn't believe neither, thinking darker is "better". now i totally not regret the 500 bucks i paid for the tint. yes, more expensive, but it gets the job done. during hot days, i get back in my car and it's not as hot as my previous cars with darker normal tint

Just make sure that it is a ceramic tint. I'm not to picky about the brand of the tint.

a lot of "normal" tints are just dye films. they don't block out much heat

some tints are metallic. they are sometimes reflective, sometimes not. they might block out some heat but not tremendous, and most important on some cars they block out the nav signal. on the 3gs it's probably ok coz' the antenna is in the front

I have 20% in my front side windows, 5% in the rear side and back windows.
It's pretty damn dark so you don't feel the effects of the sunlight. Basically, from the outside you can't see into the rear windows at all, but it takes getting used to when driving at night.

Check your Statel laws first, before tinting. Some states (like Mass) have limits on how much you can tint. I think Mass is 35%.

i called up song's and they said 500ish but i was looking to get two of my cars done so he would "discount" the price some
