Actually, I like the designs of all the cars mentioned. Each has it's place in the auto world. I happen to really like the look of the 5 series. It's edgy and different. The A6 is teutonic and stylish. The RL is understated and classy. The M45 is also undertated class with some sport.
But the GS looks best imo. Very stylish and cool. Luxurious too.

I always like the RL...from every angle. The A6 and 5 Series, I can run hot or cold, depending on the particulars of certain cars.
I love the interior styling of the GS. I like the interior of the RL a little less and don't really care for the A6 and BMW interiors.
My sister had a 2006 A8 - I'd take that in a heartbeat.

I think the GS looks the best, that's why there's one parked in my garage!

I actually like the old SC 400 you have in your sig the best. If they still made an updated version of that that car, I would have bought it over any sedan. I just can't find exactly the right coupe, well, one i can afford anyway. I'd really like a Jag XK, Benz CL, or BMW 650. But damn, $$$

It's weird how tastes can change. When the current E-Class first bowed, I thought it was the best looking sedan on the market. Now I've changed. I think it's the plainest luxo-sedan out there. Still nice but plainer than the others mentioned in this thread. Just my opinion.

Comparison between stock and a good set of wheels. My GS with Lexus stocker 17”rim (for snow tires) make the car look dull, but when the snow is over and the 20”s go on she take on a completely new look. The GS style and design really come a live. Why when I get out of my GS at the store I still look back at her.

Out of the all them mid-size luxury sedans mentioned above, I like the 5 series the best. When the Bangle designed Bimmers came out, it was widely criticized but BMW insisted that the shape will grow on you. Well, the 5 series did (unfortunately, the same can't be said for the 7 series), especially if it was fitted with M kit. E class is the second best looking, and then the GS, A6, RL, and M35/45.
Interior wise, in terms of looks, I think E class and A6 are both very nice. But function wise, I like the GS, and obviously the ML stereo.
