Default mirrors

I was just informed that Lexus has a problem with their power mirrors. I noticed my passenger mirror will not go up and down with the power button. It will go left and right, and the driver mirror works perfectly. The dealer was kind enough to order me a new mirror when i was in for my last oil change. At that time, i did not realize the mirror was not working properly. I just called to inquire, and he told me he has one waiting for me. Further into our discussion, he mentioned that they are having problems with all power mirrors on all models.

I've read it's the plastic gears.
I turned my mirrors down is reverse mode off.
Never use it anyway.

yeah. lexus gears suck it seems.

mine isn't broken yet. But i'll be sure to get it checked out before the warranty is up.

i find that when you don't use electronics, they break faster.
I guess the opposite is true with lexus

I had the same problem with my 06 GS300. Dealer replaced both mirrors under warranty. After they were replaced, I turned off the reverse mode.

I used the Reverse mode with the RX400H and they were fine when I traded it in after 17,000 miles.

I have to say that in the 9 months I have had my gs350 I have learned that lexus is not perfect, but where they are not they absolutely make up for it in stellar customer service

Yep, pretty common problem, easy fix under warranty. Mine just started not tilting downward when in reverse. Going in the shop this week to get fixed. My RX330 (before it was traded) had the exact same problem.

I assume most people know this but I will mention the fact that the tilt will not work if the mirror switch is in the center position
