Default Need advice on IPOD integration for my 06 GS430

So there is not a factory IPOD integration kit offered for the 06 model because it wasn't a option that year. Lexus will install the Vaistech sl2i or sl2vi kit that integrates with the navigation and controls. The 2vi plays video and the 2i just plays music. Basically, want to know if its worth the extra $$ to go for the video unit. This is my first nav unit in a car and I'm not sure yet if i'd watch the video. Obviously the car has to be parked until I rig it to work while driving. What should I do?

i have just the regular vais model because i have the nav unlock kit that also opens up the dvd player. that said, agree with sush1a, unless the diff in $ is just out there, i usually go for the upgrade so you have options. with computers and other electronics, i often find myself using features/components that not long ago i didn't think i would.

Video is a hard to thing to actually use when driving by yourself...let alone dangerous. sitting in a car to watch a video with the brake on is borderline retarded anyway. i saw that benefit primarily for passengers if you had the hack. it wasn't worth the $$ to get the video for me. i love the install though and use the ipod everyday.
