another reason you shouldn't go there is that he wants to cut around the brake light. it will look NASTY. i got mine tinted and they didn't remove the light. it was fine.
If they didn't cut around the brake light, how'd they do the install?

For anyone who is interested...here's Johnson's site with all their brands and tint % look on a lot of cars.
I looked at the tints and %s on an IS.The only Lexus on the list.

I don't have any use for them because I keep all my windows down in the summer and I thought it would reduce my night vision. But I didn't have any choice because I wanted something right away and the only GS hybrid had already had them done by the dealer.

I was impressed with the work because if I didn't know they were after market I would swear they were done at the factory. I put up the windows at night and the tint has almost zero effect on my night vision. I don't know what the percent is but I can call the dealer to find out an also ask what brand of tint material was used. I still don't care for tinted windows but I have to admit they did a great job and they do look good

Ontario Highway Traffic Act states ...

Colour coating obstructing view prohibited
(2) No person shall drive a motor vehicle upon a highway where the surface of the windshield or of any window of the vehicle has been coated with any colour spray or other colour coating in such a manner as to obstruct the driver’s view of the highway or any intersecting highway. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 73 (2).
Colour coating obscuring interior
(3) No person shall drive on a highway a motor vehicle on which the surface of the windshield or of any window to the direct left or right of the driver’s seat has been coated with any coloured spray or other coloured or reflective material that substantially obscures the interior of the motor vehicle when viewed from outside the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 73 (3).

In a nutshell, front windshield can not be tinted (except for the top strip), left & right windows of the driver must allow someone from the outside to recognize the driver (and interior), rear passenger windows and back windshield can be tinted as dark as you like.

Whatever you do, go with 3M tint, its pretty much the standard. If you are in NYC area PM me and I can give you the contact to my buddy, he has the contract for NYPD cars and does high profile lambos and ferraris all the time.
