Default I'm thinking about window tinting my GS

I have starfire pearl and don't want to go too dark.
I was thinking about 50%.
Anyone have pics and happy with 50%?

here is 50% tint on a GFM car. its VERY deceiving in the pics cuz it actually looks kind of dark. i assure you....in person it is NOT that dark.

50% tint is pretty much the lightest tint avail.

*NOTE*-- my car appears darker because i have black interior and all the windows tinted, including the windshield. on a car with gray or tan interior, it doesnt look nearly as dark!!!

oh!.....by the way, i LOVE the 50%. its classy, functional, and not ghetto looking, like im a drug dealer or trying to hide something.

35% is still light on my car. I have 50% on my front window shield.

I did have 20% on my sides and rear, but that was a tad bit dark for me. I think 35% is good.

I'm sure I have more pictures around but I'm lazy to look for them

Thanks for the pics and info, guys.
I have black interior so maybe the 50% will work nicely with white.Looks great on your light colored GS,07350Frost.I will check the 38% too.
My neighbor's son is a NJ State Trooper and I was talking to him about tinting. He said any tint is illegal in NJ.He hates the dark tint for safety reasons when approaching a vehicle. He usually will use his speakers and have the driver open all window.
He also says in the dark tinted unmarked cruiser he finds it's tougher to see out at night.
On the plus side,he said he will sometimes give a driver a ticket for tinting versus a moving violation to give a driver a break. So tinting can help save some points.
In Jersey with a new car you don't need to go to inspection for 4 years, then every two years after.
So the tint off the front side windows won't have to be taken off for inspection and put back on for quite awhile.
I'll probably go for an estimate and see the %'s today.

A Friend of my is a cop, he told me that cops will pull over a car with tinted window more often than a non tinted one. Especially one with tinted front windows.

07350frost GS looks clean like that nice tint , I will suggest 35% w/o the winshield, to dark looks ghetto IMO

I can believe that but I would think more for the real dark tint.
I don't think I'd have a problem with light tint and that my GS is stock looking.
I also won't tint my windshield.

Just go with 50% since you have a dark colored interior. I think if my interior was black them tints would look really dark, but I have light grey.

Well,I just came back from a local tinting guy who is well known and has a great business.

Ray Guard Tint brand?
http://www.andyswindowtint.com/auto.htm

The cost was very good at $240 for what he calls 7 windows. All windows except the windshield.
He recommended 35% but the GS factory windows already have a nice tint so I think 50% would work for me.
I'm turned off about his saying he would have to cut around the 3rd brake light. He says he doesn't want to take the 3rd brake light assembly apart.

I just spent 450 on ceramic tint 20%. I have a black on black GS 450h. I'm now worried it's a bit too dark... but I think I can get a medical pass so I'll be good legally.

I'd recommend he cutaround the rear taillite. There's a sensor in there that detects outside light to determine how your interior lights kick in.
Also, it doesn't look bad.

don't go there. that's wack. Ray Guard is the cheapest Johnson window tint there is and it has the worst warranty of the whole lineup. $240 is a rip off.

another reason you shouldn't go there is that he wants to cut around the brake light. it will look NASTY. i got mine tinted and they didn't remove the light. it was fine.
