Default my wheel ring/spacer slid out.

i was driving out of my drive way today and my front aluminum spacer slid out and was jingling behind the lug nut cover. i want to know if it is important to have that ring in at all times, or its okay for it to be removed after the wheel has been mounted and tightened up.

how is this possible? spacer goes between the hub and the rims, if it's jingling behind it, that means your wheel is about to fall off

and you run 22" and u run a spacer? even more crazy...

are you talking about the hubcentric rings?

Almost has to be, I don't see how a spacer could come loose without the wheel being ready to fall off. I'm still not sure how the hubcentric ring would be loose in there either unless it's the wrong size or somehow was worn down.

no a spacer its the ring called i believe hubcentricly rings. its aluminum and it came out. and was sitting between the plastic cover for the lugs. not a spacer its the ring.
i spoke to my guy and he told me that its just used for when u put the wheel on to keep it in place and once its tight its alright with out it, so i want to make sure that those rings don't have to be in at all times?
p.s the rings that they have me were 2 black ones in the rear and 2 silver ones that don't have a grip. the front are not plastic only rear.

If you lose the hub ring you will get some vibration while the car above 60-70 mph. If its off of a front wheel, you will probably feel it in the steering wheel. Does everything feel ok when driving on the freeway?

Your guy is correct, it's basically there to make sure the wheel stays centered while the lugs are being tightened. You SHOULD be ok without it but if you do feel a vibration on the highway you might want to look into replacing it.

I guess I haven't dealt with that many sets of wheels but I still don't quite get how it was loose behind the centercap. Mine have always fit snugly and had a lip that would keep them from falling into the wheel; they're more likely to stick to the hub when you remove the wheel than anything. I'd check to make sure they're the right size.
