Hello all. I have a 06 GS 300. I just put 20x8.5 in the front and 20x10 in the rear. When i put anyone in the back my tires rub. Does anyone have any ideas on what i can do to stop the rubbing? I will post pics soon. Thanks for any idea's given.

you can roll the rear fenders in. what size tires did you use also is your car dropped.

The front tires are 245/35/20 and rear are 275/30/20.

What brand tires do you have?
are you rubbing only in the REARS?
how bout fronts? does it rub when you make FULL u-turns?

a grinder will take care of the rubbing

The tires are Nankang. The front only rubs a little when i turn all the way to the left. The rear is what im really worried about. When grinding do i grind the whole lip?

you can cut the inner lip of the fenders or you can roll it

next time, buy a rounder sidewall tires

Any examples of a "rounder" tire? doesnt the rim size have a roll in that as well?? isnt it safe to say that a 245/35/20 on a 9" rim would be more "round" than an 8" rim cuz its a little more stretched?

If he's rollin' an 8" wheel with a 245/35.....thats an oversized tire anyways (almost 1" more diameter if im not mistaken), so its bound to rub with a balloon like that isnt it?? and then if the car is dropped??......

FYI...... I too am in the market for the correct tire sizes so anyones input would be great! thanks in advance to all

Thanks everyone for all your help and advice. I think i will try and grind the inner lip and hopefully that will stop the rubbing. And no my car is not lowered but your right next time i will change the tire size. I will try and get some pics tomorrow to post.

245/35 in the front is way to big. It will rub with that size. You need to switch the size to 245/30/20 and it will fix the prob. Dont roll fenders unless you need to. Get the right tire size. man when you punch in the stock size versus the 245/35 the tire calculator spits out a red warning symbol stating that this size is out of spec and should not be used. What confuses me is that this warning comes up on many tire size calculators but yet many members keep buying that size. Maybe it would fit if the car wasnt dropped, but if its dropped you need to get a 245/30.

using myself as example, i was using prielli p-zero on my old car and it was rubbing, then went to Toyo T1S and the rubbing stopped.

Dunlop SP sport 9000 was also my tires and known for its rounded off sidewalls

when you are pushing to the extreme, every few mm counts.

Before you roll it or do other modification...
First try taking out the plastic inner fender liner... that's what I did on my old 540...

I have 245/35/20 in the fronts on a 20x8 with no rubbing issues what so ever. I have 255's in the rear on a 20x10 with little rubbing issues in the back. Im running on a 35 offset. I believe the GS takes a 38 offset. Roll the fenders and problem solved. (My car is lowered on DF's too.)
