Dumb question. I dont know why i can get it to work. How do i get the 3g Iphone to work with my 07 gs. When i switch the iphone bluetooth on and set the bluetooth on the car to pairing mode it detects it but wont connet. It gives me an error saying unable to detect.?? If anyone has step by step instructions. I was thinking it is the passkey but i dont know how to change it on the phone. Any Help would be Great. Thanks

I paired up my iphone 3g easily with my 08 350. Try to have the phone on discoverable first and then put discover mode in the car. That's how I did it, worked perfectly for me

on iphone, go to settings, general, bluetooth and turn it on and stay on that screen. on the car, go to telephone option and 'add a phone'. on the iphone you should see hands free show up on the bluetooth screen press it. it will ask for the pass code. 1212. should connect.

not many suggestions other than look at the phone list on the car (info, telephone, downscreen, choose a phone and see if your iphone is on the list. delete if it is and try from the start. here's the sequence i've experienced in as much detail as i can offer. it's worked for me several times.
on iphone, settings, general, blue tooth on. stay on that screen
on the car, info, telephone, down scroll once, choose add a phone.
when the hands free shows up on the iphone screen it is 'unpaired'. when i press on the hands free entry that appears on the iphone screen, i get a 2nd screen with an entry line at the top and the number keyboard at the bottom. punching in 1212 and then the 'connect' button at the top of the iphone screen does the trick.
have done this several times without fail. if it doesnt work, try pairing it to a bluetooth earpiece if you have one or take it to an apple or att store and see if they can pair it to an earpiece. that would at least demonstrate that whether the bluetooth feature is defective on your phone.
