Default 08 GS350 AWD Road Test

In my opinion a fair and accurate review, have not seen it posted here yet.

Nice writeup! The presence of the tape deck is indeed hilarious. Maybe if I look hard enough, I might find an 8-track player somewhere in the car as well.

I've heard or read that the cassette can be used for listening to audio books.

Come on, it seems a little bias to me. The only thing he found wrong with the GS is the lack of standard AVS. I like the GS a lot, but even I can name a few more things that the GS can improve on.

He did write the GS doesn't really handle.
I disagree a bit with his saying the car is so quiet.I think the car produces a bit too much wind noise wth highway driving.
I don't know much about the last generation GS but it seems this generation is much improved looks, engine etc, except for rattles.
Would I buy this GS again?Maybe but probably not.

Best write up to date... only one on the AWD that I've seen.

Is there anything that can be done about that cassette deck? Can it be converted to anything?

For me, that is true for all models. Life is too short to own the same car twice

I don't mind buying the same car if the body style and such is changed but maybe I should change that to buy another Lexus.
I went 3 Lexus in a row.
My IS had creaks and rattles.
I'm told my GS will do the same when the weather gets cold.
The wife's RX has been tight so far.
If the GS has problems,Audi has my attention.

This is also the first AWD GS 350 review i've seen, like it though. Makes me feel good about buying my first Lexus.

Default gs-350

I'm looking for another awd car next year and test drove the gs-350 awd and here is my review : I also test drove the cadillac CTS awd and the new 2009 lincoln mks awd . All these cars were test driven on the same side streets and highways . The gs-350awd was actually a harsh ride compared to the rear wheel drive gs-350 . At times it felt as though the suspension was way too stiff . The road noise was nicely muffled in the gs-350 awd until I test drove the lincoln mks which was simply "tomb" like in comparison , it was scary as you barely heard any trucks or cars while driving along side of them ! The cadillac cts was also quite quiet but again the lincoln mks seems to show up these cars quite easily . The handling was bested by the cadillac which had the f3 suspension and was tuned for sport . The interior however is a subjective matter , I perfered the cadillac cts interior overall with the stiched dash and door panels and the general layout was nicely done . The gs-350 awd 's interior was very nice but i didn't like the resolution of the nav system .It was annoyingly blinded by the sun from the rear deck so it was very hard to read the maps . The cadillacs nav was simply stunning in comparison to all the cars , high resolution and excellent details of streets and was very easy to read . the lincolns nav was very good and the only car that you could voice your destination while driving than change your destination again without stoping . The lincoln and lexus have detailed backup camera's while the cadilac does not offer a camera at all -weird . Overall it really comes down to what you want and for me the cadillac cts came out the winner but the lexus gs-350awd does have some very nice qualities about it that makes me look twice about it and the lincoln will come out with a twin turbo 6 cylinder engine next year and that will be very interesting how ford will tune the suspension no the car .
Cheers

They make tape deck Ipod interfaces... I'm sure you can also use it to store business cards, pens, sticks of gum,
