Post TT&L in Los Angeles

Hello,

About to pull the trigger on a GS350, and I was quoted out:

$43,831

What would the out the door price be on the car with tax title and license fees? Also, is there a luxury tax anymore in CA?

Thanks a lot

Lonwa

No luxury tax for the GS. You're looking at about $48-49 OTD.

TT&L is typically about 9.1%-9.3% of your quoted price. So tack that on to the sales price and you'll get out the door price.

in general, for CA, add 10% and that's about right

if that car is with nav and ML, go for it

These are the options it includes:

GS 350 Rear Wheel Drive

Ext. Color: Smokey Granite Mica
Int. Color: Light Gray Leather Trim with Dark Gray Bird's-Eye Maple Accent

Options:
-Voice-activated DVD Navigation System with backup camera
-Ventilated front seats
-Power rear sunshade
-Rear spoiler
-18 x 8.0-in five-spoke alloy wheels with 245/40ZR18 summer tires and spare
-IPOD kit

Still a good deal??

Thanks

What do you think is reasonable given the options i've chosen, and the state of the economy?

Exact TT&L in SoCal will depend on which county you live in (sales tax is 8.25% in LA and 7.75% in OC). Doc fee should be $45, tire fee is $8.75, and tags are apprx $365. Quick & dirty add 9.1% to negotiated price to get an apprx OTD price.

Re: a fair price, go to KBB and look up the invoice cost for your car with the options you're getting. Start from there. IMHO, you should pay no more than invoice for a non-ML car, the dealer is still making money on the holdback and any other incentives for making their monthly quotas. In fact, go in next weekend (Aug 31/Sep 1) and I'll bet they go under invoice to make their monthly sales goal . . .
