Default 2006 GS 300 with 20" rims w/o lowered?

Hi all, I'd like to put 20" in my gs without lower it and I don't know how it'd look like. Does anyone have any advice, pictures of it? Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks all

Welcome to Clublexus.
Take your time and search in this thread. TONS of pics of GSs with 20s and not dropped and just about any kind of 3GS around.

just make sure you do the 255/30 not 245/35. They look a little to fat imo. Nothing wrong with stock ride height. to each his own.

I have been doing this for so long, that a non-lowered car is more rare than a lowered one!

I say do the wheels and stock suspension and see how you like it. I bet after 1-2months of hanging out around here you will be doing springs or coils.....TRUST ME! lol

Enjoy the car, either way

I've noticed that the stock springs settle kinda low after a year or so. I see several stock GS around town that appear lower but they haven't been touched. SInce you're talking about an 06 it may have already settled. Just try it out. Either 245 35 20 or 255 30 20 should be fine.
If you hang around here, it's hard to resist lowering.

i have to agree. i havent really modded my lex yet but being around cars alot, its almost a night and day difference with height when you get the wheels, it gives off an optical illusion.

A little late, but 255/35's and it's been so long since I bought the wheels I'd have to check on the brand. I haven't noticed excessive gap, but my factories are on right now so I won't be able to check again until march.

I would recommend you to lower it if you get the 20's... it'll look goofy in my opinion but its your wallet not mine.

From what I've read, I would advise he does the opposite. Why would you buy a 50 thousand dollar car which has a selling point of excellent ride quality, then compromise the ride quality with the vibration that will surely follow when lowering an AWD vehicle, not to mention the possibility of other problems occuring?

I've received nothing but compliments on my wheels, and from the pics, you can see it looks fine. There's no excessive gap.

Before you guys get into a debate, remember this thread is from several months ago. DO we even know if this guy ever bought wheels.
Of course you guys could start a new thread to discuss the pros and cons of lowering an awd car. I'd be interested. I want to know why staggered is a problem for awd and why the vibration from lowering? Can using certain lowering set-ups prevent the vibration? I'm sure some people aren't having vibration. WHat did they do differently?
