Anyone else having *Check Engine* and *check VSC* lights on?
Just turned 55K miles and both of these lights came on. They came on about 5K miles ago, but they went out before I brought into the dealer. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong other than the fact that the lights were tripped on from some fault - but they couldn't recreate the problem. So now the lights are back on. The car runs perfectly fine - but wondering if this is a common issue with 2006 GS300AWD- and if so is it something that i can fix (since it is out of warranty).
Thanks.
Thanks.

I would have thought dealer would have been able to retrieve what tripped the message from the computer even it wasn't still happening. once when i left my 06 sitting for about a week it ran rough for a few seconds when i started it. the check vsc message came up. it smoothed out and ran fine even tho the vsc msg stayed on. after about a week, (I don't kow how many miles) it went off on its own. seemed like once it ran ok for a period of time or miles it reset itself. i was unable to find a way to clear it myself. and it's never happened again. the fact that it's come up twice for you, i would ask the dealer to look again. I know, no warranty but i would be wondering what it might be a sign of upcoming. just a thought. i'm certainly not a guru on this.

yes I have been having battery problems and I get a lot of diffrent error [even a warning about the parking radar system] messages when the battery is too low to start, or if the battery is very low but still able to start the car. Maybe it is a sign that your battery is on the way out

My "Check VSC" came on about four times, each was followed with a trip to the dealer. Each time they got different codes for the cause, and each time they kept eh car for several days and did hit-or-miss repairs. Apparently they finally got something right, because the code stopped coming up about 6 months ago. Seems that the codes were so non-specific that they couldn't identify the problem. I was told that the most common cause for the "Check VSC" is a poorly fitting gas cap, which they replaced early on but the code still kept coming up. Just my experience to let you know you're not alone, but not much help for you - sorry!
