Default Front License Plates

So, I just received my plates for my '08 GS350. I go to put one on the front (required in California) when I do not see any holes/brackets to hold one. Am I missing something here? I see 2 little dimples, but they are too far apart to be "pre-holes" or something like that.

You should have a plastic plate bracket. Check maybe by ur spare tire. You would screw that to where the dimples go and then screw ur plate onto that.

I have a black plastic bracket on my '08.

Yep, you were right - it was hiding in the trunk. So, you just screw it right through the "dimples"?

If you don't mind holes in you bumper which it doesn't sound like you do, then yeah.

I would recommend something like this though.

You don't have to mount your plate to the side or anything. It just hides the mounting holes to the grill area for a cleaner look when you plate is on or if you ever take it off.

Does that bracket fit the GS350? If so, where do you mount it exactly? I'm a bit unclear on the location and how it fits.

Thanks

just get 2 L bracket from home depot for a buck or two and you drill the holes on the bottom side, much better

This works too and much cheaper.

If you follow the flat/vertical part of the bumper where the dimples are to where it curves and be comes horizontal. Just drill the brackets there, on that horizontal portion. Center your plate as you wish, use the dimples as a reference.

I just double-sided tape mine to the bumper for the police to sign off then took it off in the same parking lot

Just go back to the dealer for the install.
A front plate is required in CA and the dealer should be responsible for installing the bracket.
