Thanks everyone
I have 2 quick questions.
1. is there a huge difference in the DVD disc from my 07 IS and the 06 GS? Would it work in the GS?? I was going to ask they swap them for me if there is a benefit only.
2. not that I am in any rush but can I put lowering springs on the car with the suspension, I am going to refer to it as an active suspension. It is a button that takes it from sport to normal mode?? I dont know much about this feature so any insight would be great. Also if I did go with coils with that work also? do I just lose this feature??
Thanks
Mike

Congrats on your GS.
1) The Gen 4 NAV and Gen 5 NAV discs are not interchangeable. You need to source the latest version DVD Nav disc for the Gen 4.
2) AVS - Adaptive Variable Suspension switches your shock dampening from a regular or COMFORT mode and SPORT mode which is a little stiffer. You can use lowering springs with this system. As for coilovers, once you install them, the AVS system is useless.

congrats on the new ride. Once the protective mode wears away, Im sure you will consider some mods. I wouldnt do a coilover setup and ruin the adaptive suspension feature , unless you go with the tein cst with edfc and make your own personalized adaptive suspension control

I may only keep the car short term anyway so will see. So far I am very happy and I like the fact that its roomier then the IS was. Felt cramped in the IS, not that I cared, but now that I have had this I can feel the difference. I almost went back to a 2 door car and I would have hated it for a daily driver.

Yup. The 3uz-fe engine is quiet as silence itself. No injector tickings at startup, that's for sure ![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Congrats on the purchase. Sometimes you just have to set priorities straight, even if it meant losing performance for some space.
BTW, how come you didn't get the GS350 instead? It's quicker and fuel economy is better.

The specs on the two cars are vary similar. I'm not an expert, but I would think the most notable differences between an 06 430 and an 07 350 would be how they feel (delivery) and sound, not the difference in acceleration.
350 RWD
Horsepower 303 @ 6,200 RPM
Torque (lb-ft) 274 @ 3,600 RPM
0 - 60 mph (sec) 5.7
Top Track Speed (mph) 143
1/4-Mile Acceleration (sec) 14.2
Fuel Economy
City (mpg) - estimated 19
Highway (mpg) - estimated 27
430
Horsepower 300 @ 5,600 RPM
Torque (lb-ft) 325 @ 3,400 RPM
0 - 60 mph (sec) 5.7
Top Track Speed (mph) 149
1/4-Mile Acceleration (sec) 14.2
Fuel Economy
City (mpg) - estimated 18
Highway (mpg) - estimated 25
The largest variance is torque; 274 and 325

the delivery, the sound, the feel and just knowing I cudda had a V8
The added torque is huge in real life driving too. It's not too often that I'm cruising around at 6k rpm. I would take a V8 over a Six (in the same car) every time. but that is just me. Obviously there are many people who opted for the 350. and why not, it's all about personal preferences.
but if you choose to have a 350, you could at least get one in Mat Red. It is smokin hot on the GS.

Key words....torque and rpm.
More torque available at a lower rpm means more mid-range passing power when you need it, and a quiter cabin at cruise speeds.
AS long as each car has the same transmission and rear gear, I would be willing to bet the GS430/460 cars would out accelerate any IS350 car in the critical 35-75 mph acceleration run. The IS would probably have to down shift to a lower gear just to keep up in this speed range, and this is where a majority of your "real world" driving is spent.
