Look around on the Lexus website - owners area I think.

Did you buy it new?

This guy will give you a big discounted Lexus warranty.
He's well known and I've bought a Toyota warranty from him in the past at 40% off dealer's cost.
Call him and get a quote.

Yes,it's a Lexus warranty. Also, you don't pay any sales tax with the out of state purchase.
I'll purchase a warranty from Troy in the future if I keep the car past warranty.

whatever extended warranty you buy: READ IT THOROUGHLY before signing the deal. Make sure your are clear on what is covered and how much is covered. Find out how claims are made and paid. Do you have to pay all up front and get reimbursed, or does the warrantly company allow direct billing by the servicing shop? Find out if towing is covered, etc. You don't want to pay alot of money only to find out you have to pay alot of money for a 1/2 covered or non-covered item. Read it completely before you purchase. Different warranty companies have different plans.

Then look at expected post warrantly maint. costs vs the total price of the extended warrantly. In most cases the customer will pay more for the piece of mind than they will post standard warrantly items. On the other hand, it will only take one major service item (failed tranny, cracked block, leaking rear seal, etc) and the warrantly will have paid for itself.

good luck in you decision.

I don't know how much a discounted Lexus 7/100 Platinum warranty is from Troy for a GS.
I know a IS 350 is $1655 for a 7/100.$0 deductible.
I'm going to email him for a quote on my GS 350awd.
Here's an email I recieved when asking for a quote on my IS.

I am currently offering the Lexus Platinum Program for 7 yrs / 100,000 miles
w/ $0 deductible for $1415.00 and the 7 yr / 75,000 mile plan for $1130.00
on the IS250.

Most of the details on the Platinum plans can be found directly at the
Lexus website at the following link, including all the various terms and
options available, just let me know if you would like a quote on a different
plan.

http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/warra...rotection.html

Here are the purchase instructions if / when you decide to purchase.

I would need you to mail me an original signed letter indicating the exact
current mileage on your vehicle, and a copy of your current registration.(If
you are in a state where you don't get your state registration right away, I
can also use a copy of the bill of sale, purchase contract, or some other
official document which shows the owners name and address, along with the
vehicles VIN)

Sorry, I know its a little inconvenient, but its the only way we could come
up to cover ourselves on the mileage and VIN verification. After I receive
your letter, I can call you for credit card info, if that's how you choose
to pay, or you can include a check, money order, or the credit card info
with it. Also, make sure that the registration copy is legible (I have
gotten a couple of them recently that I couldn't read or had part of the VIN
chopped off on the copy).

Mail to:

Toyota of Greenfield
12 Olive Street
Greenfield, MA 01301

Attn: Troy Dietrich

Please call or email me if you think of any more questions. My phone number
is (413) 772-0989.

I recieved a reply already.
The cost seems to be under the $2K number at $1655.
Same cost as the IS 350.

Hi Joe,

$1655 for 7yr/100k on a 3GS is not a bad price.

I know that a blown Hid w/AFS unit is over 1k.
A blown Nav screen is over 2k.
I'll bet a blown ML amp is easily over 1k. . .

the chances of all those 3 things above breaking before 100k miles is slim.

i'll take my chances.

lexus are pretty reliable through 75000 mi at least.
