Default Chrome B Pillars

First off let me start out by saying now, i do not want to get them. When i bought my GS it had the chrome b pillars and since my car is painted GFM it didnt look all that bad because it was suddle. Now that i recently had my windows tinted for about a month now at 15% i cant stand the look of black windows with chrome pillars running up the middle (completely kills the look). My question is are these just stuck on with some type of double stick/3m tape? Would this be something i would be better off just ordering a new part from the dealer?

Try some 3M adhesive remover to remove the tape residue before buying new parts.

So its just something that is stuck on then? I would assume it is a stick on piece but i do know some parts for B pillars are full replacements.

I would think those chrome add-ons are double taped on.
Try the 3M stuff but don't rub too hard. You may scratch the plastic finish.
It's possible the 3M stuff may dull the plastic finish.
If you screw it up,you're only out the cost of the 3M.
Worth a try,IMO.

a GFM car with chrome pillars!!?!?!?! i can see it already and

for sure its double sided tape, but like Joeb said, it'll probably mess up your stock pillars when you remove the chrome ones. take it slow.....and be careful.

oh.....and i think the word you were looking for was "subtle". Hahaha!!

The tape is quite strong and if you end up needing to pry things in there to pop them off, you may try a heat gun which should help loosen the adhesive

dude take it a professional body shop. You are going to end up damaging the finish of the plastic. The adhesive is designed to be permanent. I had 3M tape on a interior carbon fiber kit I had on my last car and it came with a warning that the adhesive is permanent and cant be removed without damage to surface. LEAVE IT TO THE PROS

I used a heat gun to remove mine. It took a while, but it was quite easy. I could not even tell it was on before. Once they come off they are junk, though because they will be bent to he**.

trust me im prepared to go that route anyway. ive been around cars alot and have been thru 2 project cars already. im not familair with lexus so i wasnt sure because i know 99% of the time these things are stick on's but i didnt know if lexus actually made full pillar replacements that were chrome. i guess that was pretty much my questions just worded differently.

the fact that they have probably been on the car for almost 3yrs now, im almost certain it will trash the pillar if they were removed.
