Default Good Bye my friends :(

Well I final gave up and traded in my GS. All the rattles was driving me crazy and the stiff ride is very un Lexus like.

I got a great deal on an Audi A6 quattro, $9000 off MSRP and I took it. The A6 handled about the same as the GS but the ride is much smoother.

This will put a stop to my 15 years of Toyota Lexus ownership. I never thought I would buy German again, especially an Audi, but from my research, Audi has come a long way in reliability and quality.

Well, I cannot say I am not sad to see you enter the dark side, but as long as you are happy with your choice. I am not keen on the new A6 styling, but I respect the brand. Have fun and Post pics!

Had an Audi A4 for 8 yrs now (still have it) and it still runs great. One thing you will definitely enjoy is the sportiness compared to the GS. Enjoy your new ride!

I ahve been hanging around the Audi forum for a few months now and most people on the Audi forum agree that Audi of today is not the same as Audi of the 80s or the 90s as far as reliability. If my new Audi is half as reliable as my GS, I will be a happy camper.

ahh, should've gone with the LS and stay with the family. I could get a 08 LS460 SWB for less than what I paid for my GS460 now (roughly around 12k off MSRP)

but no worry, I am sure i'll still see you around, my next car will definitely be an Audi

Good luck,G.
I'll miss ya.
Talking with you with PMs,I knew you would sell or trade the GS but I thought maybe in a year.
That's a great deal on a great car,though.
I like Audi and just may look at some '09s.Maybe jump into one if they start dealing big.
I like my GS but just not blown away with it like I thought I'd be.
Maybe I'll catch you on a Audi forum sometime in the near future.

amusing how just a little over a year ago, the LS was selling at such a small discount.

now 12k off!

Congrats on your new rides, I think you will find Audi A6 a very different car then the Lexus.

I looked at the LS too, my problem is that I need AWD. The AWD LS is almost 70 thousand MSRP. I got the A6 for the same price as my GS350, which is great considering the A6 cost $5000 more MSRP.
The A6 rides as smooth as the ES but handles like the GS, best of the both world I guess to some degree. The interior of the A6 is simply amazing, I think its the best in this class right now, with the GS being a close second. Oh, did I mention the trunk is twice the size of the GS

^ Fearless prediciton - you'll be back (in my best Arnold voice). Audi had a very loyal following until the infamous transmission slip fiasco - look how looong it took for them to recover. Audi is to german cars as Acura is to Japanese cars, simply a niche player. Toyota/Lexus is in for the long run, so its simply a matter of time before Audi f's up again . . .

Default Audi to Acura what???

This what happens when the US gets the crappy version of European cars. Audi is waaayyy better than Acura just look at the A8 diesel. Audi has indeed made leaps over the past few years. I cant help myself at times when I see them on the road. Germans know how to build cars as the US knows how to build trucks. Although the LS may be the first car I would take over any Benz or BMW for the first time in my life. Great grab on the A6 i doubt you'll miss your GS.

Whats more interesting is that Audi's sales number have been going thru the roof in Europe, for some reason, the gain is smaller here in the US. Maybe is because BMW and MB have such a strong hold on the US market.
I look at both the E350 and the 528Xi as well, the A6 is every bit as nice as those cars and A6,s interior is the best by far and the A6 is also the cheapest with the year end insentives. They are trying to get rid of the 08 A6 because the 09 A6 will have a 3.0 Liter supercharged engine in it making 300 HP and 315 lb of torque, the 09 will also have those nice LED day time running lights.

I'm talking about N America. I'm not a citizen of europe/Japan, so I can't comment upon socio-economic trends there . . .
