Well, it has been a long wait, which included checking Cars.com and Autotrader every day for the past few months. The problem was that I was so specific about color, options, miles, etc., that I thought I'd never find the car I wanted. But yesterday morning, at 10 am, there it was, on Cars.com. Just traded in at a local Mercedes dealer...'07, Matador red/cashmere, Nav, ML, Parktronic, Light/wiper package, 18" tires with Lexus chrome wheels, sunshade, spoiler etc., only 15 months old with only 12,800 miles, and looking like a car with that pedigree should---pretty much like new. I was driving it off the lot, heading home just a few hours after arriving at the dealer. Considering that it had just been put on the lot that day, and the dealer must have sensed my haste in arriving to check it out, I was very happy with the negotiated cash out-the-door price...$37,500 ($34,538 + tax/lic fees.).
So now I can come out of the closet as a GS owner, no longer lurking in the shadows as a '97 ES owner who was constantly checking out the GS forum. I would like to thank everyone on this forum for all the help and information, which helped me decide that the GS350 was the right match for me, and for the additional tips, techniques and comments, which helped me feel like a member of the GS family long before the actual purchase. I look forward to more actively contributing to topics, and to the possibility of crossing paths with many of you in the near future!
