I guess we are screwed if they have the same issue on the LS. Everything on that car seems like its defines " fit and finish"

ls460? i have to be very honest and say "hardly". the ls430 and sc430 define what fit and finish is. the ls460, i have worked on so many of them and i can tell the very little flaws in every one (even the 600hl)

I have my eye on the LS460 more so since I found out the repair costs/maintenance of the GTR. I wonder if the next generation will be a bit owner friendly. Also they need to get rid of the frightening owner agreement that comes with the car.

I too have those air bubbles along the top of my windshield I noticed it before i thought it was just air bubbles in my tint but no, they are actually in the glass WOW!!!! Im agree that very few people in life really take pride in their work anymore it seems like every service or mod i ve had done i could have done better myself as long as i had the right tools for the application! the idea of paying for a pro job just to turn around and have to correct something yourself makes me want to go postal anymore!!!!!!

You guys made me check my 07GS350 AWD.
I checked both front & rear windshields. I didn't see any lines of bubbles.
Have a car for 3 years now.

I still can't tell wether the bubbles are there because a bad seal or is it the actual glass

I have them too, although they are just barely visible. Top of the windshield on the drivers side.

It really looks to me like the defect is inside the glass, not between the glass and the seal. I think most windshields today are made up of two thin sheets of glass that sandwich a plastic inner sheet. If ours are made this way, my bet is that the defect is between the glass and plastic layers.

It doesn't sound like this is an environmental issue, so maybe its a manufacturing defect.

Has anyone seen this defect on a replacement windshield?

There are many layers on a Lexus windshield, my guess its the clue bubbling up between the layers. It something that Lexus quality control should have pick up on.

I do see those bubbles on top of my driver-side's windshield, since they are not blocking my view... I can live with it.

Since Lexus is trying to make our toy as quiet as possible, they implement multi-layer technology to reduce the noise coming into the cabin... and that is the price we have to pay minor IMPERFECTION!!!

^^^ They were focusing so much on outside noise that they completely forgot about all the rattles inside the cabin

maybe, but i am not sure if i'd accept that as an excuse though. to me, it should still be park of the quality control

Exactly my story as well. It really is subtle. I only notice it when I wax or polish the car and I get to the part of the car that is right in front of the sunroof. What would the dealership do????? Would they change the glass??????
