Default Nav memory info and homelink

I am about to trade in my GS350, does anybody know how to erase the homelink garage door opener programed into the rear view mirror? Also, is there a quick way to erase all the address in the Nav's memory instead of deleting it one by one.

Thanks in advance

first.. what car are you replacing the GS with?

second.. hold button 1 and 3 until light flashes like crazy

third, yes, you can delete all the nav memory, it's in one of the options, just play with it and you'll find it

Picking up my Audi A6 tomorrow, the wait is killing me

So I need to hold both button 1 and 3 and wait for the light to flash?

Anyone know where the erase all button is in the Nav unit?

ooo.. I thought you already got the car

take this as a farewell gift:

1. Push the “INFO” button to display the “Information” screen.
2. Touch “Screen Setting”.

(c) Delete personal data
The following personal data can be deleted
or returned to their default settings:
 Maintenance conditions
 Maintenance information “off” setting
 Memory points
 Areas to avoid
 Previous points
 Route trace
 User selection settings
 Phone book data
 Dialed numbers and received calls
 Speed dial
 Bluetooth phone data
 Security code

This function is available only when the vehicle
is not moving.

1. Touch “Delete personal data”.
The “Delete personal data” screen appears.
2. Touch “Delete”.
The “Confirmation to delete all personal
data” screen appears.
3. Touch “Yes”.

i hope you did your homework.

my uncle work for a Volkswagon/Audi dealership here in So*Cal and tells me they have nothing but problems with those cars. (reliability issues)

i went to his work and he pointed out stacks of crates 6-high of Audi transmissions!!! No B.S.!! there were about 15 trannies sitting there!!

I do love the new A6 and the A5, im just not 100% convinced on the reliability. good luck!

I did a lot of research, Audi had very poor reliability in the early 90s, but they have been steadily improving. The newest Audi are rated as average in the JD power long term reliability report. As far as I know, there is no wide spread issue with the Audi Transmission. The Germans knows how to build engines and transmissions and suspension better than the Japanese. Most of the time, its the electrical system that fails in the German car or some other minor issues.
With that said, I would never buys a 1st or 2nd year German car. The Audi A6 is in its 4th year of production, most of the bugs should be fixed by now.

how could the "newest" anything have any long term reliablilty report whatsoever? just being rhetorical.

On a side note, I like the new Audis just for the row of LED lights below the headlights. Makes the BMW Angel Eyes look out of date now.

That JD power report is on the 05 cars and its a 3 year study, the 05 A6 is the same as the 08. The new 09 A6 will have the LED DRL and a super charger, but not on my 08 I guess thats why the 08 is so cheap.

I guess you were right 07350frost, Audi did have a lot of problem with the transmission when the last generation of A6 4.2 liter V8 first came out, around the late 90s, but that was the old transmission design.

^ Audi is a subsidiary of VW, so I'll bet the drivetrain supplier for VW also provides the Audi units . . .
