Economics 101, the '08s are rotting on the lot and the '09s are at the port waiting to be del'd. Dealers lose their allocations if they don't unload the 08s first, and they pay carrying charges for each add'l month cars sit on the lot. Your first loss is your best loss, so better to take a slight loss on a 08 now and make it up on the 09s that will be del'd later . . .

You're comparing apples to oranges. The ML plays Dvd-A discs and Surround sound 5.1 discs, which the base system cannot. So you can't simply listen to FM radio or a std CD on both systems and state you cannot justify the extra $ for ML. If you played a Dvd-A or surround sound Cd in the ML, you'd be blown away by the sound imaging and separation, which I guarantee you cannot reproduce on the base system. Simple test, listen to the opening sequence of Star Wars III in a ML equipped GS, then tell me you cannot tell the difference . . .

I'll bet money that no dealer will sell a new GS for $3,000 off invoice....

^ You're in GA, that's not the same as SoCal. There are at least 13 Lexus dealers w/in a 50 mile radius of Los Angeles - you'll lose that bet . . .

Alright OP, socalJD seems to have your goal set. If $3,000 off invoice is possible on a new (non-demo) GS in SoCal, certainly you can get that deal when buying two.
Please let us know what kind of offers you're getting and what the dealers' responses are to a $3,000 below invoice offer...

Default What deals have you Gotten on GS350

I have called dealers and I have'nt been able to get lower than $1000 below invoice on to GS350. The closet I got to that deal is 2 years of free maintenance which I don't think is worth that. I am getting 2 of them and I thought I would be able to get 1500 below invoice but it's near impossible. Any suggestions out there?

You people make me laugh. You wonder why car dealerships are often rude or seem uninterested in helping you, yet this is the kind of thing you actively encourage.

By the way, the car has about $1K in holdback. To lose $2K to sell a car, you'd have to find a GS that has been on the lot since the start of the 2008 MY. I suppose there may be some Florida or California dealership insane enough to do that.

To those suggesting offering $3000 off invoice. Your telling me you want the dealership to LOSE $6000?? I understand business is down, but who would lose that much money? I work for a Toyota dealership and they would NEVER go $3000Below invoice. Thats the difference between why i make money while others dont. Holdback is only a few hundred dollars. Get real guys. INFACT the more you buy the MORE MONEY they lose so why would they sell you for that much of a loss? This is where Mooch falls into place. Shop around 40 dealerships and dont enjoy your purchase.

There are dealer bouns and insentives on top of the holdback, but L3xotic is right, the dealer have to keep the lights on too. If there is no incentive from the factory, its very hard for any dealer to go more than $1000 below invoice.

I agree. I sold Toyotas awhile back during college and there def. is not $3,000 worth of leverage below invoice on their cars. Dealers will simply tell you to go somewhere else if your going to insult them with crazy offers below their cost. Plus in the long run, your spending so much more of your own time calling up ten different dealers for pricing than most people would think its worth.

When I shopped for mine, I used the live chat feature on each dealer's website. Instead of posting on here, use that time to negotiate with them. I saved $5k, so I'd say it was worth my time.
