Do you mean they renegotiated the buy out amount?

Thats what I did 2 years ago immediately after I got the car, I chucked those ugly rims and got the 5 spokes.

Also, the car price was given to me right up front for 23,000 without any negotiation from me. The dealer is one of the biggest in the midwest and decided that marking 8-9,000 off is good enough for me and did not hurt them.

I will more likely get nice clean kit but maybe no rims since it is a pain to have them in Michigan with the winter and some bad roads.
Indeed, very nice and clean I have Silver one as well, and always amazed how clear you can see all the details on light colored car. Tint looks great, 20%? If it wouldn't be for NJ law of no-front-side-window tint, I would love to tint all the way around. Otherwise, rear window and rear-side tint only is not for this car. So I’m stuck with a factory 50% or whatever we have stock on 3GS.

But why do you think Michelin tires fill up the gap? Why would it be different from any other tire? The overall diameter is the same, so the gap would stay the same too? Maybe going from 17" stock AWD to 18" RWD 5-spoke wheels what makes this illusion? I was tempted to drop my with NF210, but possible vibrations and constant caution of going up/down the hills or through Jersey swiss-cheese pothole roads made me change my mind.

The picture is with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 245/40/18 in which I got rid of 3 days ago due to poor ride, noise, and vibration even after road force, etc on some highways in Michigan. I never liked Ultra High Performace All Season tires because of this. Lexus dealer does not recommend the pilot sport a/s. I sold them off and got new Michelin Primacy 245/45/18 (thicker rubber) not shown in picture and it closes the gap even more with amazing sporting handling for a grand touring a/s tire. The car is so quiet and does not have any pulling and the ride is so nice without compromising the comfort over the potholes. I had continental procontact touring tires and they made a huge wheel gap when I got the car with the rims 2 years ago. So the car looks more lower and wheel gap is very small now with the Primacy MXV4 tires.

Anyone interested in seeing pics of 4 of my cars: The 2006 Merc ML350, 2006 Audi A8L, 2008 BMW 335XI coupe, and 2006 Lexus GS300? Let me know, it might be a nice photoshoot in front of the house.

I'll try to take a full car photo outside tomorrow to compare it better. It looks much better with the beefier tires.

I'm still a little confused... My lease comes up in Feb next year (48 month lease. don't know off hand what the buy out is) and I am seriously considering buying it at lease end. Should I anticipate the dealer making me a great offer to buy it out? I will do my homework on current '06 AWD value and hope to save a lot on the advertised residual price. It just seems to me that keeping a car you know and have serviced over the years makes more sense to me, especially since the new 3GS's aren't much different than my '06. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

you're going to get new rims? do you want to sell your 5 spokes? I have the stock '06 300 gs 17" rims, the 'wagon wheel' ones. I like the 5 spoke design better.

I agree. I don't think many of the aftermarket tweaks do the car any favors. All i want to do is get rid of my stock 17" rims and get the 18" 5 spokes. Obviously I need to get new tires too. I'm running General UHP's, which are a little bit noisy (you can hear tire hum when you slow down), and I think the rough road ride could be better. (fortunately the original owner dumped the run flats)

I'd like to get the quietest softest riding tire, on the 18" 5 spoke rims. Any suggestions?

cool, that's what I want to do. Where'd you get the 5 spokes and how much did they cost? Also, what did the new tires cost?
