"Often" wouldn't be correct if it meant more than once every other month. Would "frequent" suffice for about 8 waxings in 3 years? The car wash guy kinda takes care of the finish and suggests what's needed to keep it shiny. The 3 or so times I waxed it myself, I done everything but the carpet, seats, and tires and such. My headlights had zero haze. And yes, as you acknowledged, the headlights were replaced for free. I couldn't see why they wouldn't have been. Have your headlights ever been introduced to a petroleum product that may cause such a "cracking" effect? That's actually all I'm asking here. Happy Holidays!

I ask just because your posts were misleading. Although my cars see a professional detailer 2x a year where they strip, clay bar and rewax, the cars also see a car wash about once a month (especially in the dirty winter). In both cases the waxes are petroleum based and get on the lens.
On my 02 ES I occasionally waxed the lens. They started to show haze and some very fine lines. I won't say cracks because they looked more like normal surface abrasions. I was able to restore the plastic to what looked almost new with a product called Crystal View.
