Default 2010 Lexus GS-F

Can you believe it? One of the managers at a Lexus dealership mentioned that a new GS-F will be out in a couple of years. Anyone hear the same thing?

I might as well throw this in here while I'm posting this, but did you guys see the IS250/350 debut in the movie "Untraceable"? Oh, if you are one of those sick ***** like the guy from the movie, you are truly disturbed.

That Manager must be enjoying his vacation in LaLaLand. He should send a postcard...

Reasons why it will not be made by 2010:

--The GS will be due for a redesign by 2012 (for release in early 2011).
--The economy sucks. The luxury market needs to wait for a rebound.
--Gas prices are very unstable.
--A 5-year old design is not the best thing for Lexus to build upon.
--Competitors such as the CTS-V, M5, and E55 AMG are exceptionally preferred by enthusiasts.

There will be a GS-F, so we have been told. The date is unclear, but our Lexus rep was of the opinion it will be coming with the next redesign.

Didn't Lexus's public release indicated that there won't be a GS-F? It cited economic conditions and that GS-F won't be developed.

Yes, it said that.

But I think it was more to calm people down and ease some pressure.

It almost certainly won't come with the current body style, but the new one. It will probably use a de=tuned version of the LF-A engine (yes, they are going to make the LF-A).

I'll believe the LF-A when I see it. Its been rumored to come out for the last 3 yrs, and Lexus keeps pushing back the launch. The LF-A is such a huge departure from core Lexus marketing, that I wouldn't be shocked if it gets scrapped. Now the GS-F has a future, and there's enough hardcore Lexus enthusiasts out there to actually carve out a market, if it's executed properly

With Toyota / Lexus sales off by 28% this month, I dont think will be in a hurry to invest in the GS-F.

I would hope the economy would have recovered by the year 2012, I think they should plan for a GS-F being available on time by then

Lexus never does anything quickly.

From what I hear, it will be a late 2010 / 2011 model, by order only, and cost well into the low six figures.
