Thinking of tinting tail lights, what do you think?

imo, the tinted tails take away from the subtlety of a stock GS. it seems to work well with GS's that have been kitted, lowered, etc. -pretty much things that make the GS noticeable from the jump. again, the most important thing is if you think it's hot, and if you do, don't let anyone stop you from enjoying your car

Have you ever driven behind a person that has tinted their tail lights ? Especially at dusk ? Or behind someone that changed out the bulb color to something odd ?
The tail (brake) lights serve a larger purpose than looks. No matter how "good" me or my "buddies" thought it looked I wouldn't make a change that makes it more likely to get hit from behind. Im sure your insurance adjuster might agree...

When i saw this thread i had to go out and take a picture of my car :P
Its a 1.3 megapix camera phone so the pics arent really nice.
I think it looks nice maybe because i have it :P (Mine were painted on also)
And yea as long as its not too dark it would look nice. Also colormatch taillights imo looks wack....
On that comment about making it harder to see people with tinted taillights its true, my friend has a 350z with super super dark tint and i cudnt tell if they lights were braking when he hit the brakes or was his lights just on.

Do it! just not too dark if your car isnt that dark. I'm going to do it to mine just because my rims are black, my emblems are black, and i plastidip'd my door handles black to keep a red/black look.

Smoked tail lights
I didn't want to darken my tail lights - but I did want some sort of protection film.... Out of laziness I just bought the lightest pre-cut tinted film on eBay, and I actually turned out to like it quite a bit.
I know I wouldn't like the black-out lights, but it's all preference.
It looks good for the gray paint, but does somewhat disappear in direct sunlight.
