hub centering rings on aftermarket wheels
Looking at aftermarket wheel options for my 3GS, it seems that all of them require hub centering rings.
I'm not fond of hub rings due to my negative experience with them in my 7-series. However, my friend with an MX-5 didn't have any vibrations at all with his aftermarket wheels with hub rings.
Those with aftermarket wheels using hub rings, what is your experience? Any remaining vibes that won't disappear no matter what?

i have hub rings and i have zero issues on vibrations on my gs350. and looking back, i have had another 4 sets of wheels on my sc430, gs400, ls460l, with rings, and i had no vibrations at all too
imho as long as you get good hub rings that are tightly fit, it should work

with a hub ring the wheel is also hubcentric. It can be described both ways. You have to have them. The car will ride nicely, but make sure you get a hunter road force balance. Have them balance the tires to zero. I have had 5 sets of wheels in the past ( 4 street, and 1 set for the track ) so I have learned a thing or two. trust us, get the rings. If the wheels are made hubcentric ( the way rominl is describing) they will absolutely cost you more money

i had crazy vibration when i got my aftermarket wheels and after the hub centric rings were fitted on, 95% of vibration was gone, so if you have vibration then you should at least try it out....

that's not a good sign. i'd go back to your vendor and raise heck. do you have hub rings installed? if not, you should consider getting them (and see if that makes any difference to the shaking problem). if you do have hub rings, you need to make sure they are the correct hub rings, or try a new set of hub rings.

is the vibration strong? i just had some work wheels put on a week ago and so far so good. haven't noticed any strong vibration coming from the wheels. this is my first set of aftermarket wheels so i'm not sure what i should be looking out for though.
