GS 350 and 430 Differences
#16
but
Lexus did a great job on the 2GR-FSE engine, from driving my 2009 Cayenne S with a V8 and S550 the power delivery doesn't feel like a V6 except for no engine rumble or that true V8 sound!
If I could go back in time I would have taken a better look at the 535i
Here is a pic of lowered GS350 but the V8 430 looks way better dropped, lol hahaha
Cause the 2006 GS430 has 2008 GS460 wheels!

LOL, of course the V8 looks way better than the V6 dropped, thats a great reason to pick one over the other!

They don't have the same wheels, wonder why!

If I had to do it all over again (today) I would still get the GS 430 V8. I just like the smoothness and the rumble. One of my friends had a GS 350 and of course as we know the performance is equal or better since the 350 engine is lighter.
Also honestly I think when it's time to sell your GS, the GS 350 would have a better resale value due to the fact people think the V6 is much more practical. But I love my V8's

as much i love the v8, there is just simply no point to get the 430 when the 350 has more hp and higher MPG, sure a bit less tq, but at least you'll be much happier at the pump
07 nav is so much better among other things. 350 just makes much more sense.

I'm not sure about the OP but in my searches, I haven't found any 07 350's in the low end of the range he's claiming. They are usually all 31-35k (USD). The 06 430's i'm finding in the 25-30k range.

I agree completely. And just so nobody is confused: All the 18" 5-spoke wheels are all the same on all the 3GS for 2006 & 2007. The 2008 model had the new "fan-blade" type wheels.

the Gen 5 nav in the gs350 is WAY better than the one they put in the 06 gs430, but the V8 is so smooth that i can deal with the poorer resolution on the nav for better torque and sport suspension...i am one of those that I can't go back to a V6 since i bought by GS400 in 2000...the V8 is that nice to me...sounds way better too

Though on paper the GS350 has a bit more HP than than the GS430, the feeling of power and acceleration comes down to the midrange torque. Driving normally or even semi aggressively the V8 with the extra 60-70lbs of midrange torque feels way more powerful. It's just when you floor it and the engine gets near redline that the GS350 feels as powerful as the 430. The V8 has much more usable everyday power.
The 430 also has the adjustable suspension which is kind of cool.
On the flipside the GS350 does get significantly better mileage and since its a year newer, has the next gen Nav and some tweaks Lexus put in the GS for 07 to reduce rattles and whatnot.
Its really a tossup....

Of course anytime you add 2 more cylinder you will get better performance at low RPM. The performance diff. between the GS 6 cyl and 8 cyl is not as much as most people would like to see. In fact, its very hard to justify to buy even the GS460. Looking at other car manufacturers, the performance diff between the 6 and 8 is usually much greater. Lexus really need to do something about the GS 8 cyl in order to make it competitive.
