I spent the last 6 yrs ...3 in a BMW X5 and 3 in a Audi A6 both vehicles produced alot of brake dust. I got use to it just went to the car wash more often. If the lexus has brake dust so be it, I can deal with that.

^ Forget the uber cars, tell me more about the LS5. Is it stock with matching #s, do you have a 12 bolt posi, is it a turbo 400 or muncie 4 spd, does it have cowl induction ???

Good Luck with your new Lexus.
A6 is a great car, almost got one and I am thinking about going up to an S6 but rather wait for this GS-F crap to get more news on, lol

I've tested A6 and didn't like its feel on high speed, so moving to Gs is a good step if you do a lot highway driving.

Actually my 06 was a fantastic car on the highway and the dealer offered me a great deal on an 08 but for some reason the 08 did not feel anywhere near as nice as my 06 i don't know what they changed suppose to be pretty much the same car but it didnt thrill me. Like i said was time for change and so far im real happy...hopefully i wont get the dash rattles and squeaky breaks plagued by others

Trust me, I have bought both cars above 100 MPH and the A6 is much smoother and handles much better on the highway. Notice I didnt say just better, but I said much better which about sums up the big differnce between the two. The only thing the GS have over the A6 is low end torque.
The A6 is actually smoother over bumpy road and yet handles much better on turns, usually those 2 charateristics are one or the other, a trade off sort of speak, but somehow, compare to the GS, the A6 managed to be better in both areas. I dont know how the German does it, but the Lexus engineers should really learn from them.

I like my GS, but I guess I'm a BMW guy at heart. I had 2 coupes - yeah, I'm also a coupe guy - and would still have the last one if a sub-human degenerate didn't have a seizure coming off a freeway and total it (and 4 other vehicles) while I was stopped at a signal. She was reported to have seizures before and shouldn't have been driving. Unfortunately, she lived.
However, my BMW dealer keeps e-mailing me about buying a new one, and I keep replying that when I can get a new coupe with a spare and without run-flats, I will.

I also went from an Audi (which I still have and drive) to a 08 GS. German cars are great in handling and I would consider more of a driver's car. But the GS is by no means a slouch either. If one would plan on taking their car to the track on weekends, then I would highly recommend a german car. But who really "pushes" their car on a daily basis and a very small percentage of people actually go the track with their car on a regular basis. I drive aggressively and think the GS is more then capable of taking anything I give to it. But one thing the Lexus has over the German engineers is ride comfort. Driving my Lexus is sooooo much smoother then all the other german cars (c350, e350, 535, a4, a6) I test drove before making my decision. And electrical issues still plague german cars. Enjoy your new ride!

Orbital817, does your GS have runflats? I just finished test driving all those cars you mentioned last month. The 5 series with the runflat was the worst when it come to bumpy road, I think I hurt my back bone on the test drive The GS with the runflat is the 2nd stiffest and the Audi is 3rd and the E350 without the sport package was the softest.

You dont really need a race track to enjoy a nice handling car. For example, there is a sharp turn in a river road that I drive thru every day to work. I was able to push the GS thru it at 35 MPH max before the car starts to lean. With the A6, I can do it at 45 MPH.

@G_man

I guess living here in Houston, TX there just isn't any "fun" roads to really notice a huge difference in handling between cars. There just isn't any windy roads, just straightaways and turns but no curves. lol

If were talking about taking turns at breath taking speeds i can take turns at 80 mph in my vette that would put my audi and the GS into a tree lol when it comes to fun driving theres no subsitiute for horsepower my brother-in-law has a viper and my vette blows him away

I enjoy the GS on a totally different level and yea the run flats have to go !
